日月潭邵族狩獵拜鰻祭,依部落過去的習俗,拜鰻祭在農曆七月初三舉行,用糯米製成白鰻造型的麻糬祭拜祖靈,邵族為什麼有拜鰻的祭典呢?長老說潭魚捕上來即死,但白鰻生命力強韌且有耐力,用白鰻造型麻糬祭拜祖靈,祈求漁獵能夠豐收,祭典在石姓跟袁姓氏族頭人門前擺放祖靈籃和白鰻麻糬,由女祭司為族人祈福。
邵族擁有固定祭場舉行祭典,但在縣政府市地重劃後,祭典儀式只能在馬路進行,盼政府歸還土地,讓邵族人有祭拜祖靈的空間。
